Quote of the Week

"RESULTS has inspired me to push beyond my preconceived notions about our elected officials. I have met so many passionate individuals who are working together to end poverty in their communities and around the world."

- Shams Al-Badry, RESULTS REAL Change Fellow

New Senate TB Letter, Maternal/Child Health Letter, and the Budget

What did you accomplish in the First 100 Days? A lot!

  • 80% of global groups held 228 meetings with representatives, senators, and staff, including 60 face-to-face meetings with representatives - our best year start on record.

  • 48% of global groups reported 125 outreach activities. (Imagine if 100% of groups were doing outreach! We are on our way 500 outreach activities in 2017!)

  • 49% of global groups generated 135 pieces of media.

Let's it keep going in the next 100 days and beyond to support global development assistance for FY18 . . .

Then pitch the story to your editors and local writers! Send this editorial packet to your local editor, asking them to issue a call for the preservation of this vital funding.

Global Partnership for Education

  • New in our Newsroom. Earlier this spring, the White House released a budget blueprint that would slash U.S. investments in the fight against global poverty. Just one of the many things on the chopping block: the chance for millions of children to achieve their simple dream – and their right – of an education. As the White House takes aim at funding for global education, a staggering 263 million children and youth are out of school globally. And so what's next? The Global Partnership is asking its developing country partners to allocate a full 20% of national government expenditure to education annually, and it is asking for a collective $3.1 billion from donor governments over 2018-2020. Read more about this necessary push by the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) on our blog.

  • By Friday, May 19, we will have a brand new Action Sheet supporting your advocacy for the Global Partnership for Education (GPE). Check back and use the action sheet as a centerpiece for an upcoming local RESULTS Education and Action meeting.

Speak Up! Friends & Family Fundraising Campaign is Underway

Speak Up is officially running from May 15-26 and is an opportunity to invite your friends and family (and neighbors, colleagues, community) to support your work as a volunteer advocate with a donation to RESULTS. Campaign resources are now available on our website, including talking points about our work, sample emails and social media posts to promote your campaign, and step-by-step instructions (with pictures) on how to set up your fundraising page.

We are in an extraordinary organizing moment. People across the country are eager to engage with the political process and make a difference in the causes they care about. RESULTS is working to take full advantage of this opportunity to build our movement of passionate, committed everyday people. RESULTS grassroots advocates are helping to raise needed funds to ensure we can take full advantage of this unique organizing moment by participating in a peer-to-peer online fundraising campaign. Let's Speak Up!
