Senate Health Bill Would Destroy Medicaid

Senate leaders unveiled their health care bill, and the new legislation would do even more damage than the House bill passed last month. It would gut Medicaid and take away health coverage from millions. In particular, the Senate’s cuts and caps to Medicaid are worse over time than the House bill, putting health coverage for children, people with disabilities, and seniors at serious risk. We need a strong backlash from across the country.

Call Your Senator TodayCALL BOTH YOUR SENATORS TODAY at (800) 826-3688 and say:

“I urge Senator ______________ to oppose any health bill that cuts or caps Medicaid or causes millions of Americans to lose their health insurance. Medicaid plays a critical role in my community/my life (SHARE A 1-2 SENTENCE STORY IF YOU CAN!) and we are counting on the senator to oppose any legislation that ends Medicaid as we know it.”

Don’t let politicians or the media distract you! It doesn’t matter how the Senate bill compares to the House bill or what small changes they make in the next week. One thing won’t change – the Senate bill cuts taxes by over $50,000 for millionaires and pays for it by ending Medicaid as we know it, ending the ACA’s Medicaid expansion, and putting the health care of 30 million Americans at risk.

Even if you’ve already called recently, call again. We must make Senate phones light up every day before they vote next week. Share this alert with others you know and urge them to call too. Lives are at stake and we must do all we can to ensure health care for all Americans.

Again, CALL BOTH YOUR SENATORS TODAY at (800) 826-3688 and say:

“I urge Senator ______________ to oppose any health bill that cuts or caps Medicaid or causes millions of Americans to lose their health insurance. Medicaid plays a critical role in my community and we are counting on the senator to oppose any legislation that ends Medicaid as we know it.”
