By combining the collective, powerful voices of volunteer advocates in over 100 communities throughout the U.S. with solid research and oversight of U.S. anti-poverty efforts at home and abroad, we have been changing our gover nment’s priorities as well as people’s lives. Annually, RESULTS’ citizen activists from around the globe gather together for the RESULTS International Conference (IC) in Washington, D.C. The IC offers inspiring, high-level speakers; educational workshops on effective poverty solutions; advocacy skills trainings; and the experience of lobbying on Capitol Hill. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Group rate is available until July 2, 2012. Room Rates: Our discounted group standard room rate is $155 per night, single or double occupancy. An additional $20 per night per person applies to groups of three and four registered to a room. Taxes are not included. Reserve early to get the special $155 per night: Please note that Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights are our peak occupancy nights. The first 200 rooms will be available at the standard $155 rate. Our conference coincides with the International AIDS Society Conference, which has booked all hostels and most room nights in DC (30,000 people are expected). Scholarships/Financial Aid In cases of financial need, a very limited amount of funding is available through the Karen McQuillan Memorial Fund to assist with registration fees, lodging fees, and travel. If you are 18-25 years old, a current RESULTS activist or have a demonstrated interest in RESULTS advocacy, you qualify to apply for the RESULTS Education Fund’s REAL Change Scholarship. Volunteers will have their registration fee waived, but must pay for their ticket to the Tuesday night Capitol Hill reception. Please apply early before slots are filled.
