We are honored once again to have Marianne Williamson, internationally acclaimed spiritual author, lecturer, and activist kick off the conference on Saturday July 20 with a special day-long seminar entitled, The New Activsm. You don't want to miss this:

The New Activism

We are challenged as a generation now to take a great leap forward – to step out of our comfort zones and stand with conviction, taking actions that are necessary to transform the world.  Embracing the possibility of the highest, most creative vision for ourselves and the planet, we can become people whose very presence suggests an alternative to the fear-driven energies that dominate the world. How do we do this? What are the inner and outer changes necessary to make it happen?

At a time when fear and violence abound, our task is to create a collective force-field powerful enough to overcome them. Like Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. before us, we have the opportunity to turn love – for ourselves and for all the world- into what Martin Luther King, Jr. called "a powerful and effective social force on a large scale." If only light can drive out hate and only love can cast out fear, then it’s time for all of us to become serious and committed bearers of light and love.

The seminar is integrated into the RESULTS International Conference because Marianne understands that her work and the work of RESULTS are one. Marianne encourages participants to check out these TED talks if you are thinking about participating:

2. Bono on ending poverty by using our voices

3. Jacqueline Novogratz on her experience of Jamii Bora, a Kenyan microfinance organization
