Commitment to Diversity
RESULTS is committed to diversity throughout its organization. To deliver on that commitment, the board of RESULTS/RESULTS Educational Fund has established a Diversity Task Force.
Due to our firm belief in the value of diversity, this task force is committed to increasing the representation of people of color and low-income populations within the RESULTS' board, staff, and volunteer base. In order to fulfill our larger mission to end poverty, the Diversity Task Force is dedicated to conducting diversity outreach through cross-cultural programming and sharing best practices, organizational skills, human resources, and technology.
Pilot Cities Project: Two cities have been chosen as pilot areas to test outreach strategies, using culturally and spiritually appropriate materials for presentation and training.
Diversity assessment of own organization: First, a grassroots baseline assessment will be done through a grassroots survey. The baseline assessment will include RESULTS/REF board and staff members. From this assessment, the next steps will be identified and specific recommendations will be made, including quantifiable goals.
Develop a set of materials and best practices for our groups to use in their own outreach: Work is currently underway to compile these resources. RESULTS staff members will have time devoted to managing this project.
Taking diversity to policy level in organization - institutionally support diversity through board policies: The RESULTS Diversity Task Force will research what policies the board has already adopted to ensure a diversity emphasis is reflected across the organization. Funds will be budgeted for legal review.
